I had first hand experience of HypnoBirthing® when I gave birth to my daughter. It was a truly amazing and empowering experience and I felt as if my baby and my body knew instinctively what to do. After attending the HypnoBirthing® course and practising the relaxation and breathing at home, it was easy to give over to my birthing body and let labour and birth happen naturally, without intervention.
After the birth I started looking further into HypnoBirthing® and gained a greater understanding of the theory behind it ........... the next step seemed natural.
As well as my own personal experience of HypnoBirthing® I have experience of teaching both adults and children as a qualified teacher. I am also a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and have spent many years working in the NHS.
I really believe giving birth should be about choice, and families should have access to full information to enable them to make informed choices. Women's bodies are perfectly equipped to give birth, and apart from the few women who fall into special circumstances (as some women always will), birthing does not need to be a medical event. HypnoBirthing® helps families take birthing out the medical arena, allowing natural, calm and "amazing birth".
