I work with another local Doula, who I know and trust, to offer a shared care service. This means that you get the benefits of a usual Birth Doula package, but with two doulas to support you and the safety of knowing that in the unlikely event that one of us is unable to be there on the day, you will have the support of a doula you have met and feel comfortable with. We generally do all antenatal and postnatal visits together so that you get to know us both and one or both of us will attend the birth, depending on your preference. We have six children between us and have a range of experience that we bring to our work.
We will provide you with emotional, physical, and educational support to help you have a safe, positive, and empowering birthing experience. We want to help you look back on your baby's birth with joy and positivity. We offer all of our Doula clients a free space on my Wise Hippo birth preparation group course, if there is a space available and the dates suit you. If course dates don't work I offer the course privately at a reduced rate.
The birth package also includes:
✅ At least 2 antenatal visits to discuss your birth choices & talk through how you'd like us to support you.
✅ Ongoing support by telephone and email until 6 weeks after your baby has been born.
✅ Be by your side from start of labour until 1-2 hours after your baby has been born.
✅ A FREE initial consultation to see if we are the right Doulas for you.
✅ Be on call for you 24/7 from 38 weeks until your baby arrives.
✅ A postnatal visit including a birth debrief if you’d like one.
✅ Breastfeeding support if you choose to breastfeed.
✅ Access to a lending library of books and DVDs.
✅ Help with your birth plan.
And of course you are welcome to join our lovely monthly AmazingBirthers get-togethers to meet other local mums and have a cuppa.
Price: £550 – £850 on a sliding scale plus travel costs (mileage above 40 mile per round trip charged at 45p per mile)
Payment Plan - 9 Month Pass
If you are considering hiring a Doula (or 2), but are concerned about the cost, we would love to hear from you. We offer a payment plan that starts at £60 per month for 9 months. xx
Birth & Postnatal Doula Support - Mothering the Mother.
The word ‘doula’ — pronounced ‘doo-la’ — is a Greek word meaning ‘woman servant or caregiver’. More recently, it refers to someone who offers emotional and practical support to a woman and her birth partner before, during, and after childbirth.
As your postnatal Doula I will help you to simply enjoy your baby, and allow you to spend time developing a close bond and cherishing those amazing newborn snuggles. If you’re planning a babymoon the support of postnatal Doula can help you thrive during those first few days and weeks.
Regardless of what kind of birthing experience you’ve had, rest is necessary for healing. When you have more time to rest, your body is likely to heal more efficiently. The sooner you heal, the sooner you can enjoy being active with your growing family.
I will nurture you through the transition to parenthood, or to being parents of two or more children. This could mean
✅ Hands-on baby support – help with first bath or other baby care as you build your confidence.
✅ Watching over your baby at night during the much-needed sleep stretches between feeds.
✅ Holding the baby and/or playing with a sibling whilst you have a shower or a bath.
✅ Helping you sleep by looking after baby whilst you have a nap during the day.
✅ Support with breastfeeding & provide company as you nurse your baby.
✅ A birth debrief – help you process your birth experience.
...basically providing whatever care and support you need.
£15 per hour for a 3 hour minimum,
or 10 hours for £130
or 20 hours for £225
including mileage expenses within a 40 mile radius from NN9 5AD. Mileage beyond that is charged at 45p per mile.

“The wisdom and compassion a woman can intuitively experience in childbirth can make her a source of healing and understanding for other women.”
- Stephen Gaskin
"Experience of the phenomenal capacity of our birthing body can give us an enduring sense of our own power as women. Birth is the beginning of life; the beginning of mothering, and of fathering. We all deserve a good beginning." - Sarah J. Buckley
