I also work as a Doula with Doula UK and love helping partners support their baby's birth too, rather than standing on the periphery feeling helpless.
I volunteer as a breastfeeding counsellor with a global breastfeeding charity, and co-run the Northamptonshire Positive Birth Movement group.
If you'd like to find out more about me and the ways that I can support you through your pregnancy, your baby's birth, and beyond, give me a call. I don't blog or vlog (I may yet find my voice in a social media driven age), but am always happy to have an old-fashioned chat over the phone, by email, Facebook messenger, or face-to-face. If you click on the FB photo you should get straight to the Amazing Birth Facebook page.
"Giving birth can be the most empowering experience of a lifetime - an initiation into a new dimension of mind-body awareness."

My two girlies.
I grew up in Ireland and came to the UK many years ago to go to Glastonbury.
That summer I got a job in London, and met my now husband. I worked in various operational & project roles for over a decade with NCR, Revlon, & Barclays Wealth Management. It's been quite a journey from the corporate world to the birthing world, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I have found my calling with AmazingBirth.co.uk.

Way before babies were even on my mind I overheard a colleague talking about his wife having a cuppa, whilst watching Coronation Street and IN LABOUR! Some time later two friends also had very positive birth experiences. These were very different to the traumatic birth stories I'd heard growing up. The seeds of positivity were planted.
When I was pregnant with our elder daughter, I searched for information about positive birth. I came across hypnobirthing and it resonated with me. What my partner and I learned made so much sense. We were also lucky enough to find a wonderful Doula to support us. The birth was truly amazing. I was ecstatic at points during it and on a complete high afterwards. I had no idea that a woman's birthing body could be so powerful. There’s no doubt in my mind that hypnobirthing and the support of our Doula made it so. The experience changed my whole perspective on birth and gave me a newfound respect for my body.
I trained as a hypnobirthing instructor with the Marie Mongan HypnoBirthing Institute. When I moved to Northamptonshire with my husband and two fantastically feisty daughters in January 2014, I decided to teach The Wise Hippo programme, which also uses hypnosis techniques. There are many birthing programmes that use hypnosis that are collectively labelled Hypnobirthing. The Wise Hippo has a unique approach; we do not focus on one specific way of birthing with one specific outcome. We appreciate that every woman has unique needs, wants, & concerns about their baby's birth, and we teach with this in mind. This in turn enables each woman to prepare for their baby's birth in a way that feels right for them and ultimately to have the right birth on the day.
